During the 2009 Legislative Session, C.R.S. 16-11.3-103 (2.5)(d)(l) was modified by Senate Bill 286 to require that the Colorado Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice prioritize the study of sentencing to recommend whether to modify any sentences or sentence laws. During Fiscal Year 2016-2017, 327 youths in the funded restorative justice diversion programs began receiving services and 296 (91%) youths completed an RJ process. Further, 247 (83%) youths completed their restorative justice contract and the diversion program.
