Description
During Fiscal Year 2016-2017, 327 youths in the funded restorative justice diversion programs began receiving services and 296 (91%) youths completed an RJ process. Further, 247 (83%) youths completed their restorative justice contract and the diversion program. Two-thirds of all youths (222) served were served by the three programs that had participated in the pilot. Fifty percent of youth served were female and 49% were male. Just under half of participants were identified as Hispanic/Latino (41%). Over three-quarters of all youths (78%) were identified as White, including youth who were identified as both White and Hispanic/Latino (50% of those who had data for both race and ethnicity). The average age of the offender youth was 14.3 years.
