Description
Author Daoud Hari, a tribesman in the Darfur region of Sudan, was among the hundreds of thousands of villagers driven from their homes by Sudanese-government-backed militia groups. Reaching safety, Hari chose to use his high school English and offer himself as a guide and translator to jounalists and aid groups, risking his life again and again to help ensure that the story of his people was told in time to save them.
