Canadian water company executive Peter Matthews is found brutally murdered while on business in Johannesburg, South Africa. Police officer Zembe Afrika is put in charge of the investigation and when Claire, Matthews' 20-year-old daughter arrives to find out what happened to her father, Zembe hires Nomsulwa, an anti-privatization activist to distract Claire and keep her safe amidst a conflict that seems to be about much more than money.
