Description
Johnny Guitar is one of the most unusual Westerns ever filmed. The "good guys" wear black, gender roles are reversed and a sexual tension underscores many of the scenes. When the railroad finally comes to a frontier boomtown, so does trouble. Enterprising businesswoman Joan Crawford not only controls the nearby profitable gambling, she's been buying up enough property to make her the most powerful person in town. The timely arrival of Sterling Hayden as the ex-gunslinging troubabour, Johnny Guitar, temporarily thwarts McCambridge's dark plans, but not even he can prevent a violent showdown between two power-hungry women.
