The Strategic Plan Steering Committee has representatives from 18 different government and private organizations including three state agencies: Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Lead-Based Paint Program, and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, and Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Division of Housing.
Description
Lead poisoning has been identified as the number one preventable environmental health threat to children in the United States. It can cause significant and permanent health issues. The poisonous effects of lead are well established, and thought to affect nearly every organ system in the body. Children are most at risk for its effects.
